Q: What are the collection categories?

A: Picture Michigan offers three categories of collections (packages) to meet any budget! The Standard Deluxe collections are our most popular choices, and include such luxuries as a fine-art print, enhanced digital negatives, and a complete set of proofs. The Basic Proofless collections include the same award-winning photography without the proofs. The Budget collections are partial-day coverage and are available on a very limited basis.

Q: How many hours of coverage are included?

A: Hours of coverage are “unlimited” with some reasonable limitations. To ensure the story of your Wedding Day is complete, coverage begins shortly before the Bride slips into her wedding dress and continues through the reception, midway into the portion of the reception when dancing and mingling is the main event.

Because the timing of each Wedding Day is different, no hours are associated with coverage.

We especially encourage you to plan some time between the Ceremony and Reception for some additional location celebration, which includes our popular creative bridal-party portraiture!

Q: What is the photojournalism style of photography?

A: Spontaneous and unplanned. Impulsively improvisational. Don’t look at the camera and say cheese. The traditional “formal poses” are limited. Otherwise, be yourself and enjoy your day!

Q: What are Enhanced Digital Negatives and Scrapbooker’s Special?

A: They are both “digital negatives” for producing your own 8×10 (or smaller) prints. Enhanced Digital Negatives are included with the Deluxe Collections and available for purchase with all other collection. Any image that is used in any of the books or mounted prints is enhanced and delivered with final product. The optional Scrapbooker’s Special is all proofs as digital negatives in their native form and delivered within two months of the Wedding or final photo shoot where applicable. There are no enhancements made to these images, and available only with the Deluxe Collections.

Clearly, the better choice is the Enhanced Digital Negatives. Though fewer in number, each file receives special attention in post production and offers the best possible visual impact. These images better represent the magnificent quality of the Picture Michigan portfolio you see online!

Q: What is the difference between the Coffee Table Book and the Gallery Book?

A: Both are very similar as they are nothing like the traditional matted album! They are picture books designed to tell the story of your Wedding Day. To be truly appreciated, they must be personally handled and seen up close.

The Signature Series Coffee Table Book is the format of a quality Coffee Table Book similar to those found on the shelves of bookstores. This book is a 10×10 square format, printed on wonderfully thick pages, a personalized designer hard cover and includes a deluxe slipcover.

The Gold Standard Gallery Book takes luxury to its highest level. This book is available in various sizes from 9½x13 to 16×20. The pages are solidly rigid. Covers are available in leather, silk, steel, and are even customizable! These books are so superior they even have their own carrying case.

Q: Travel Fees?

A: There are no travel fees for Weddings in the four-county metropolitan Grand Rapids area. Fees range from $75 to $500 plus applicable lodging for Michigan weddings. Mackinac Island has a separate all-inclusive package, which waives all travel fees.
